Every opportunity someone gets here is an opportunity for the city too. A job means a paycheck instead of a cost to the system, and the dollars saved don’t disappear, they move into schools, roads, health. That gain doesn’t stop with one person either, it changes what the next generation grows up believing is possible.
Thirty-six states have already run this experiment, saving over a billion dollars by investing in exactly this. The federal Reentry 2030 initiative projects $43 billion more by 2030. This is the infrastructure a smarter city is built on.
